Transcript: Water is one of earth’s most common things. One interesting thing about water is that it can change from a liquid (like the water we drink), to a solid (like an ice cube). Water can change from one form to another and then back again. But, no matter what form it takes; no matter what it looks like, it will still be water. One way we can change the form of water is by changing its temperature. Water changes into a solid when it gets really cold. Let’s put some liquid water into an ice cube tray and put it in a freezer where the temperature is very cold. After a while, the water in the freezer changes from its liquid form, to its solid form. Solid water is called ice. If we take the solid water or ice out of the freezer and allow it to warm up again, it will melt and return to its liquid state. This is what happens to the ice in your drink…it turns into liquid water. So what have you learned about water? You know that water can be a liquid or a solid and that it can change back and forth between the two forms.
